A blend of Barbera and Merlot from the PIedmonte region of Italy.

This wine is, we thing, unbelivable value, given how special it is.  Think black cherries, plums, prunes and even a bit of smokiness. It's not overbearing though - it's still fruity and fresh (somehow). Stop thinking about leather club chairs and wood-cladded walls and think more of a cosy sofa, a fresh spring day.

To get the best out of Piangalardo, decant it (a jug will do) and give it 10-15mins of air. If you can make it last, you'll be amazed how it just keeps improving over the course of a few days!
